Prep is the first year of school as it provides the foundation for your child’s educational journey. It is compulsory for Queensland children to undertake Prep prior to Year 1.

A child must be 5 years of age by 30 June in the year they enrol in Prep. To determine when your child can commence their Prep year, use the prep ready reckoner calculator or alternatively you can contact us to assist you with enrolment enquiries.

Enrolling your child in Prep next year?

Prep enrolment applications can be lodged at the office from the first day of Term 2 in the year before the child’s prep year (e.g. Prep 2019 enrolments will be accepted from the first day of Term 2, 2018).

Enrolment Procedure

  1. Check the enrolment management plan and catchment area to determine if you live in or out of the catchment area. Alternatively you can contact us to assist you with enrolment enquiries
  2. Complete an enrolment form and collect an enrolment package from the office
  3. Gather proof of residency and any other required documentation (includes birth certificate)
  4. Provide the completed enrolment and proof of residency documentation in person to the office
  5. Await contact from the school regarding an enrolment meeting (meetings will be conducted early in Term 4)

Parents or legal guardians are informed that an enrolment meeting will only be conducted following the receipt of all enrolment documentation (includes birth certificate).

Out-of-catchment students applying for enrolment in Prep are placed on a waiting list, assessed in order of receipt once all enrolment documentation is provided to the Principal’s satisfaction.
