At Waterford West State School we are commited to following Education Queensland's code of School Behaviour. The code defines the responsibilities that all member of the school community are expected to upload and recognise the significance of appropriate and meaningful relationships.

Classroom procedures for inappropriate behaviour

At all times we endeavour to teach social skills based on the teaching of virtues and how our brain works in both a proactive and reactive manner. The following procedures are used:

  1. Warning
  2. Time out in class
  3. Buddy class time out - up to 10 minutes
  4. Peace room
  5. Administration Referral
  6. Two peace room referrals during the day will result in contact with parents.

At the Peace room we teach social skills and self awareness programs that encourage responsible self management.

Awards for excellent and highly commended behaviour are given to deserving students on weekly assemblies and at the end of each semester.
